That made it easy for the T400 as when I installed one driver it automatically updated the other driver. The second issue is the need for a power management driver that can perform the switch between graphics cards during power state changes.

Another trick is to manually force the graphics drivers to update by finding where the download installs the driver on your hard drive and then using the Device Manager to manually update the driver itself, keeping in mind it may be a previous version than Windows 8 wants.

Also don't run any auto updates as the dates of the drivers will be older than Windows 8 wants and will then try to install the latest version. Windows 8 WDDM 1.1 drivers for my T400 had an October date while the drivers that are working have a May 2012 date.

Finally, you can force the issue in your BIOS. The T400 allows me to select which card I want or the switchable option. By forcing it to use one graphics card or the other I was able to get 1 or the other Windows 8 drivers to work but the only way to make it work in switchable mode was to use the latest Windows 7 version.

Hope this helps. Good luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01991321405489551817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8195960884587142892.post-36470676443674504452012-11-02T13:44:34.418-04:002012-11-02T13:44:34.418-04:00Hi, I am facing the same problem as you regarding ...Hi, I am facing the same problem as you regarding the switchable graphics driver.
